Alvenia Scarborough is the Chief Brand Officer for Chemours.

As Chemours’ Chief Brand Officer, Alvenia is responsible for creating and accelerating the company’s communications strategy and brand recognition across the globe. With passion and energy, Alvenia drives the company’s vision—to create a better world through chemistry—by building communications programs and thought leadership to promote Chemours’ unique innovations, sustainable solutions, and purpose-driven approach to business.

Scarborough has held several senior marketing and marketing communications roles at Newell Rubbermaid, DuPont, and Kodak, in which she consistently delivered growth, performance, and several successful “firsts.” Including rebuilding a 50+-year-old brand, delivering incremental earnings via a novel brand licensing strategy, and launching an inaugural digital-first MC campaign to solidify a #1 share position.

A champion for inclusion, diversity, and equity in the chemical industry, Scarborough is the executive sponsor of the Chemours Black Employees Network (CBEN), and leads Chemours’ first global school adoption program.

Scarborough holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
