Allan C. Golston is President of the U.S. Program for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In this role, Golston presides over a major program within the world’s largest private foundation.
The primary focus of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundations’ U.S. Program is to improve our education systems in order to significantly increase the number of young adults that achieve a postsecondary education with economic value. Golston leads the program’s five areas of strategy, policy and advocacy, and operations of a $500 million dollar domestic program over a $3 billion portfolio under management.
Golston is a seasoned executive with a professional background in business – including corporate board experience – and non-profit companies including consulting, public accounting, consumer packaged goods, software development, finance, healthcare, and education.
Golston holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Colorado and an MBA from Seattle University.
