Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life®) announced that Howard Woolley has joined its board. Woolley will sit on the Audit Committee as well as the Nomination, Evaluation and Compensation Committee. A leader in the fields of regulatory risk management, public policy, and government affairs, he currently is president of Howard Woolley Group LLC, a strategic business and public policy firm serving leading technology clients. Prior to that, Woolley served as senior vice president for wireless public policy and strategic alliances for Verizon Communications. In that position, he served as public policy advisor to all CEOs of Verizon Wireless from the founding of the company in 2000 until his retirement.

Woolley brings more than 20 years of extensive board experience to Allianz Life. He serves as chair of the Nominations and Governance Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee for telecommunications company, SOMOS Inc. Woolley also currently serves on the board of trustees for Johns Hopkins Medicine as well as for Syracuse University. He has served past terms on the boards of the National Urban League as well as the National Council of La Raza (UnidosUS), specializing in diversity and inclusion strategy.
Woolley holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and a Master of Administrative Sciences degree from Johns Hopkins University. He is active in medical, education and arts philanthropy.
