Alaska Airlines and Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Russell Wilson Launch ’12th Fan Rescue’ Contest
Alaska Airlines and star NFL quarterback Russell Wilson are coming to the rescue of Seahawk fans across the country by offering to fly two loyal fans to Seattle this weekend to watch the Seahawks battle the New Orleans Saints in their divisional playoff game. In “Russell’s 12th Fan Rescue” contest, Seahawk fans are asked to submit video links, pictures or stories showing their Seahawk pride wherever they live. Wilson describes the contest in detail at www.alaskaair.com/12thFanRescue.
“We’re looking for loyal Hawks fans across the nation who have proudly shown their Seattle spirit, even in rival cities, to fly them home for our playoff game this Saturday,” said Wilson.
Fans have until 6 p.m. Pacific time on Jan. 9 to capture their Seahawk pride and submit their entry. Two winning entries will be chosen by Alaska Airlines on Jan. 9 and notified by phone. Each winner and their guest will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Seattle, including roundtrip airfare on Alaska Airlines, hotel accommodations for two nights and transportation to the NFL playoff game at CenturyLink Field on Jan. 11.
“With more nonstop flights to Seattle than any other carrier, Alaska Airlines is proud to bring fans home to support the Seahawks in their playoff run,” said Joe Sprague, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of marketing.
Each fan is limited to one entry per person. All entries should be emailed to HeyRussell@12thfanrescue.com by 6 p.m. Pacific time on Jan. 9.
Entry emails must include a valid email address which could be a Temp Email, residential address and a cell phone number. The two winning entries will be announced on Twitter @AlaskaAir at noon Pacific time on Friday, Jan. 10.

Alaska Airlines named Wilson its honorary CFO — “chief football officer” — last month. As part of the partnership, travelers wearing a Wilson jersey are invited to board early on flights departing from Seattle for the duration of the Seahawks season.
In addition, Alaska has enhanced its support of Seattle Children’s Hospital, where Wilson regularly visits young fans receiving care. In honor of Wilson’s commitment to connecting with these children in such a meaningful way, Alaska Airlines is donating 100,000 miles to Children’s Hospital for each touchdown pass Wilson throws or touchdown he scores through the rest of this season. Wilson will appear at events, take part in marketing activities for the airline, and work with the carrier to support youth and education programs.
In the coming weeks, Alaska Airlines will unveil a series of short videos with Wilson, inviting the public to get to know the Seahawk quarterback better. Fans can follow these and other Wilson announcements at www.facebook.com/AlaskaAirlines and on Twitter @AlaskaAir.
