Myrtle Potter has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Sumitomo Pharma America (SMPA) and Chairperson of the Board of Sumitomo Pharma UK.
In this role, Myrtle led a fast-growing, global biopharmaceutical company that has a robust pipeline of innovative drug treatments targeting a broad range of diseases.
Prior to Sumitomo, Myrtle served as Chief Executive Officer of Myrtle Potter & Company from 2005 to 2018, she and her team of experts led major strategic efforts and multiple product launches for numerous global biopharmaceutical companies.
From 2000 to 2004, Myrtle served as Chief Operating Officer at Genentech, Inc.
Myrtle serves on the Boards of Guardant Health, Inc., Gingko Bioworks Inc., Liberty Mutual Insurance Group and Opentrons Labworks, Inc. She is also a member of the Board of Trustees of The University of Chicago.
Myrtle earned a B.A. degree in Political Science from the University of Chicago.
