Donnie Upshaw is Chief People Officer and Senior Vice President of Corporate Restaurants for Wingstop, where he’s been Serving the World (and the organization) Flavor for the last six years.
Since joining the fast-casual chain, Donnie has played an instrumental role in building a culture centered on Wingstop’s core values of being Authentic, Entrepreneurial, Service-minded and Fun – collectively called The Wingstop Way.
Donnie leads Wingstop’s talent management strategy while overseeing the operations of over 50 corporate-owned restaurants that set the standard for over 2,000 franchise-owned restaurants across the globe.
Before joining Wingstop, Donnie served as Vice President of HR for Credit Corp, where he led initiatives that improved financial performance, fostered internal talent and instilled a stronger focus on employee culture and overall satisfaction. Before Credit Corp, Donnie served as Director of HR and Compliance at Energy Dispatch, a subsidiary of RaceTrac Petroleum Inc., where he spent 11 years of his career.
Donnie attended Johnson & Wales University, where he played on the basketball team and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Management.
