Mintz is pleased to announce the appointment of Michelle N. Lipkowitz as Office Managing Member in Washington, D.C.
The change was effective April 2, 2023, the start of the firm’s new fiscal year, and ushers in a new phase of Mintz’s growth across both geographies.
Managing Member, Bob Bodian said, “I am delighted to announce this appointment. Michelle is a shining example of both the progress we have made and the bright future we have as a firm.”
He continued, “Michelle has multiple years of leadership experience with clients and colleagues alike. Every day she brings that experience to work in the form of enthusiasm, innovation, and the desire to continue fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. Our Washington, D.C. office will benefit from her leadership.”
Ms. Lipkowitz has a robust litigation practice that encompasses complex commercial litigation, white collar defense, and government investigations. She regularly provides counsel on highly sensitive matters, often assisting with crisis management and strategies for handling the press. Ms. Lipkowitz has extensive experience with shareholder, construction, product liability, and contract disputes, consumer class actions, criminal defense matters, and she regularly advises educational institutions. Ms. Lipkowitz also has extensive management experience, having been chair of diversity as well as head of the Baltimore office at her prior firm. She joined Mintz in October 2022 and takes over from Susan Berson, who retired at the end of the firm’s fiscal year.
The appointments come amidst a period of sustained growth for Mintz. The firm recently recorded an eighth consecutive year of increased revenue and profits and announced the launch of two new offices, one in Miami to be led by seasoned capital markets and corporate attorney Jim Ball and the second in Toronto, helmed by Mitch Frazer, a leading authority on pension law in Canada.
