Miriam Lewis is Chief Inclusion Officer at Principal Financial Group®. She has global responsibility for designing, leading, and implementing strategies that foster a more diverse, equitable and inclusive (DEI) workplace, increase employee performance, drive better outcomes for customers, and ultimately improve business results.
Prior to joining Principal, Lewis worked at The Clorox Company, where she earned roles of increasing responsibility in DEI and supply chain. She previously held positions with The Coca-Cola Company and Citigroup Financial Services.
Lewis helps to foster DEI across the life insurance industry as inaugural chair of The American Council of Life Insurers’ DEI Forum. She provides insights and perspectives to drive excellence in the global DEI marketplace by serving as a director on the Diversity MBA Advisory Leadership Board for P&L Groups, LTD.
Lewis is a member of Broadlawns Hospital Foundation Board. She was profiled in the DEI & Accessibility Magazine produced by the L.A. Times and named the 2022 Diversity Changemaker of the Year by MentorcliQ.
Lewis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from The University of Alabama. Lewis and her husband, Ray, have one adult son, Ray Jr.
