Tony Gay serves as Chief Legal Offi cer of PECO Energy. Headquartered in Philadelphia, PECO serves more than 1.6 million electric and 532,000 natural gas customers in southeastern Pennsylvania and is a subsidiary of Exelon Corporation.
Gay oversees the team of lawyers responsible for PECO’s regulatory and legal aff airs in Pennsylvania. Prior to his current role, he served as PECO’s Vice President of governmental and external aff airs. He began his career at PECO in 2006, serving as assistant and then Associate General Counsel. As Associate General Counsel, he led the company’s regulatory legal group and served as the legal project manager for the Exelon/Pepco Holdings merger from 2014 through its successful close in 2016.
Gay received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and served on the Law Review as an associate editor. Early in his legal career, he was a litigation associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, LLP, and a law clerk to the Honorable Raymond A. Jackson, U.S. District Court Judge, in the Eastern District of Virginia.
