Justin Dean is a Partner and Managing Director with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Washington, D.C. Since joining BCG, Dean has focused on working in Energy, primarily on the utility and renewables sector, leading efforts across strategy, operations, M&A and advanced analytics topics.
In addition to Dean’s client service role, he leads the Washington D.C. office. He is also a core member of BCG’s Ethnic Diversity Network, responsible for setting strategy and direction for the firm’s Black/African-American cadre.
Prior to BCG, Dean worked as a Senior Regional Engineer in distribution services, managing the construction and maintenance of distribution infrastructure in Las Vegas and coordinating engineering standards across other local utilities. He also worked as a Design Engineer for ALSTOM Power, overseeing steam turbine and generator maintenance and engineering projects.
Dean received a Master’s in Business Administration from Kellogg School of Management. He also holds a Master of Engineering Management with a concentration in Manufacturing Operations from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia (UVA), where he also serves as a Trustee for UVA’s Engineering School.
