Verona Dorch is Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, Government Affairs and Corporate Secretary for Peabody Energy, the world’s largest private-sector coal company and a Fortune 500 company.
In this role, Dorch serves as a strategic business partner to the executive and business teams and a seasoned global leader of the legal, government relations, compliance and data privacy functions. She is also lead counsel to the Board of Directors.
Dorch is a highly regarded leader who has garnered the respect of business leaders. Dorch has more than 20 years of broad experience counseling diverse global businesses, including nearly 15 years as in-house counsel, which included a multi-year secondment in Tokyo.
Dorch was recognized as a 2013 Pennsylvania Diverse Attorney of the Year and is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
Dorch has served on the board of directors for the Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce in Harrisburg, the Pennsylvania Public School Foundation and YMCA. She also is a member of the International Energy Agency’s Coal Industry Advisory Board.
Dorch holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Dartmouth College and Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.
