Herman Morris, Jr. is an attorney with nearly 40 years of diverse legal experience and a distinguished history of corporate and civic leadership.
Morris has also held top leadership roles as former president and chief executive officer for Memphis Light, Gas and Water, the City of Memphis’ municipal utility company; Vice President and General Counsel of Memphis Light Gas and Water; Vice President and General Counsel of Pinnacle Airlines; and City Attorney for the City of Memphis.
He has served on association, non-profit and community boards with the National Petroleum Council, American Public PowerAssociation, Tennessee Supreme Court Board of Professional Responsibility, Memphis & Shelby County Library Foundation, and NAACP Special Contribution Fund – among many others.
Morris has been recognized by Woodward/White, Inc. as one of “The Best Lawyers in America” in Energy Law. His proven expertise and abilities are more recently founded in The Morris Law Firm, a general civil practice specializing in energy, corporate and employment law; public policy; and mediation.
Morris earned his B.A. in Economics from Southwestern at Memphis, now Rhodes College, and his J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law.
