Walter E. Massey is President of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Massey has been the President Emeritus of Morehouse College since 1995 and served as the
President of Morehouse from August 1995 to June 2007. Previously, Massey was Senior Vice President for University of California System. In this role, Massey was responsible for academic and research planning and policy, budget planning and allocations, and programmatic oversight of the three national laboratories the University manages for the Department of Energy: Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory and Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory.
Massey is a Fellow and was the President of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Massey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Mathematics from Morehouse College and a Master of Arts degree and Doctorate in Physics from Washington University in St. Louis.
