Wes Thompson is President, Sun Life Financial U.S., responsible for the company’s U.S. insurance operations which include a leading employee group insurance business, an expanding voluntary benefits business, and large in force blocks of individual life insurance and annuities. The company’s Bermuda operations, which market to high net worth individuals internationally, also report to Mr. Thompson.

Mr. Thompson joined Sun Life in 2008 and has been instrumental in renewing the strategic direction of SLF U.S. He has a strong track record of building insurance organizations and is focused on growth for the company in the group and voluntary benefits markets and delivering value across all business lines for customers and shareholders.

He is an active board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Hartford and the Wadsworth Atheneum–Amistad Foundation. Mr. Thompson has also been actively involved in youth soccer programs for the past 25 years. Mr. Thompson received a Bachelor’s degree from Brown University.
