As Ulta Beauty continues to showcase its commitment to leading its people and the broader beauty and retail industries forward through DEI efforts, the company welcomed Kim Adams as its first-ever Vice President of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Talent Acquisition. In this new role, Kim supports the nation’s largest beauty retailer and its 45,000+ associates as she further shapes the DEI vision and strategy, while building synergies across the company’s hiring and pipeline practices. Her core focus is to:

  • Lead the organization’s DEI strategic initiatives, spanning external and internal efforts
  • Act as a trusted DEI advisor, partner and driver
  • Manage the cross-functional DEI governance model

Kim brings more than 20 years of experience in building strong cultures and leading DEI efforts. Prior to Ulta Beauty, she served as vice president of Human Resources, DEI, and Engagement at Papa John’s International where she worked to transform the company’s efforts and output. She was also vice president of Engagement, Inclusion and Diversity at Equifax, senior director of Employee Experience and Culture at AECOM, and held roles at Coca-Cola, Cox Automotive, and Marsh Inc.

Ulta Beauty’s CHRO, Anita Ryan, shaped this role as a strategic next step to continue advancing the company’s DEI leadership, ensuring even more tenured, passionate leaders can drive the company, its people and the industry forward.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Kim in a key leadership position dedicated to growing our DEI and Talent Acquisition strategies,” Ryan states, “She will play an integral role on my leadership team and we look forward to the passion she’ll bring as we amplify our DEI efforts across the business and our associates and our talent acquisition efforts, to creating meaningful impact at Ulta Beauty and beyond.”
