Syrinthia Studer Named Executive Vice President, Nickelodeon and Awesomeness Films

Syrinthia Studer has been named Executive Vice President, Nickelodeon and Awesomeness Films, overseeing all live-action feature-length content for Awesomeness and Nickelodeon’s Kids & Family Studio in a role that encompasses development, production, acquisitions and co-financing. The news was announced today by Shelley Zimmerman, Executive Vice President, Live-Action Studio, Awesomeness and Nickelodeon, to whom Studer will report.

“Syrinthia’s extensive experience and understanding of today’s content landscape will make her an invaluable asset to Awesomeness’s and Nickelodeon’s expanding live-action studio businesses. We’re thrilled to have her join the team and lead the charge in creating an exciting new slate of projects and partnerships that will reflect the passions, curiosities and diverse profile of our audiences,” said Zimmerman.

Studer’s addition comes at a time of great momentum for Awesomeness’s film business in particular, evidenced by its recent successes ranging from To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before and To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, to The Perfect Date and Before I Fall. In her new role, Studer will further harness the strengths of Awesomeness and Nick to develop original feature-length live-action content for both Gen Z and the kids and family audience.

A 20-year industry veteran, Studer most recently served as Paramount Pictures’ Executive Vice President, Worldwide Acquisitions, where she oversaw the global content acquisitions business, acquiring films for domestic and international theatrical release and distribution across multiple home entertainment platforms including streaming and digital VOD.

Studer is known for her ability to identify and nurture films across genres for global audiences. Among her notable acquisitions are the breakout comedy Book Club starring Jane Fonda, Diane Keaton, Mary Steenburgen and Candice Bergen which grossed $100M in the worldwide box office, Richard Linklater’s Boyhood which she acquired home media rights via a multi-picture relationship with IFC Films as well as numerous internationally distributed film festival favorites.
