Reading Event Celebrates UnitedHealthcare’s Donation of Reading Stations and Children’s Books

by LP Green, II

UnitedHealthcare donated 40 UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation (UHCCF) reading stations, nearly 1,000 “Oliver & Hope” children’s books and 2,000 activity worksheets to encourage early reading and healthy living among children.

Today, Vista Community Clinic (VCC) received seven reading stations and 80 children’s books during an event to celebrate the donation from UnitedHealthcare. Community leaders, UnitedHealthcare executives and VCC staff joined UnitedHealthcare mascot Dr. Health E. Hound for a reading circle and healthy activities with VCC patient families. Participating children received goodie bags with coloring pages, jump ropes and a new book.
