Jenifer Lewis in Blockbuster HEREAFTER Directed by Clint Eastwood

Actress Jennifer Lewis describes having a role in the movie HEREAFTER an honor because of the cast and largely due to her tremendous respect for the film’s director, Clint Eastwood.

“Intellect and humanity are two words I use the most when I describe working with Clint Eastwood. HEREAFTER is his attempt to bring us poetry about the hereafter,” Lewis shared in an exclusive interview with Savoy Magazine about the film.  “It captures the undercurrent of human emotion and allow us to do what we will with it.  It was a thrill to work with him.”

In HEREAFTER Lewis plays the supporting role of Candace, a distraught mother that urges the lead character, George (Matt Damon), a blue-collar American who has a special connection to the afterlife.

Lewis has appeared in over 60 motion pictures, displaying her versatility as both a dramatic actress and comedic star, in such films as HEREAFTER alongside Matt Damon and directed by Clint Eastwood, CORINNA CORINNA, with Whoopi Goldberg, CASTWAWAY, with Tom Hanks, THE ANTWONE FISHER STORY,  RENAISSANCE MAN, THE MIGHTY, SISTER ACT, DEAD PRESIDENTS, BLAST FROM THE PAST, THE BROTHERS, MYSTERY MEN, POETIC JUSTICE, “TYLER PERRY’S – MADEA’S FAMILY REUNION’ and “MEET THE BROWNS.”  In animation, she has lent her unique and distinctive voice to Pixar’s blockbuster hit CARS, Dreamworks’ SHARKTALE and Disney’s Oscar ® nominated THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG.  Lewis is set to revise her memorable role as ‘Flo’ in the upcoming CARS 2.
