Fences Revival Breaks House Record in Final Week on Broadway

The masterful revival of August Wilson’s lauded play Fences has earned Tony Awards, recognition and packed houses at the Cort Theatre in New York.  The balanced cast is anchored by Denzel Washington and backed by legendary Director Kenny Leon.

The Broadway revival of August Wilson’s 1987 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play FENCES won the 2010 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play.  In the closing week Fences, broke the box office record for the seventh time in its final week of performances at the Cort Theatre for the week ending July 11, 2010, grossing $1,175,625.94.
