Wanji Walcott brings more than 20 years of fintech and payments law experience to her role on PayPal’s executive leadership team as Senior Vice President & General Counsel.

 

Walcott leads the Global Legal function at PayPal, overseeing PayPal’s daily legal activities. She is responsible for advancing PayPal’s mission to democratize financial services with key constituencies in the public, private and regulatory sectors. Wanji also plays an essential role in cultivating an inclusive company culture, serving as the co-founder of PayPal’s global probono program, the executive sponsor of PayPal’s women’s network and an active member of PayPal’s Black employee and ally network.

 

Walcott has expertise in legal and regulatory matters and extensive experience with global financial services and technology companies. Prior to joining PayPal, Wanji served in various roles of increasing responsibility at American Express and most recently as Senior Vice President and Managing Counsel, where she was the lead counsel for the Enterprise Growth Group, driving the global strategy to expand the company’s emerging and digital payments services.

 

Walcott received a Juris Doctor degree from Howard University School of Law and a Bachelor’s degree from Howard University.
