Ralph H. Cathcart is a Managing Partner of the Litigation Group at Ladas & Parry LLP, an international intellectual property boutique law fi rm. Cathcart focuses on copyright and trademark litigation before the federal courts and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Cathcart provides opinion work, counsel on brand strategies and portfolio management and implements national enforcement and anticounterfeiting programs for clients. Cathcart has also trained U.S. Customs agents on counterfeit detection.
Cathcart was named: an Intellectual Property Trailblazer by The National Law Journal (2017); a WTR1000 (“best attorneys” in the world) by World Trademark Report (2016-2018); an IP Star by Managing Intellectual Property magazine (2013- 2017) and a Super Lawyer in Metro New York (2014-2017). He is also an adjunct professor at Fordham University’s School of Law.
Cathcart is a former Executive Board Member of the Metropolitan Black Bar Association and P.A.L.S. and is active in civic organizations.
Cathcart holds a Bachelor degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. from Hofstra University’s School of Law, where he was an editor for The Copyright and Entertainment Law Digest and served on the Moot Court Board.
