Neal Suggs is the Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Commercial in Microsoft’s Corporate, External and Legal Affairs (CELA) group, Neal Suggs has served as Microsoft’s lead commercial attorney since September 2010. He works directly with customers, partners and regulators on enterprise cloud services.
Neal helps to address cloud compliance issues that are critical for customers of all sizes, particularly in highly regulated industries and considering data privacy and protection laws and regulations around the world.
In the course of his 15-year career at Microsoft, Neal has also been the lead attorney for Xbox and Microsoft Business Solutions. He led the diversity efforts for Microsoft’s legal department from 2007 to 2012.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Neal practiced at various fi rms in the Seattle area and in London. He started his private practice career as a commercial litigator. He then transitioned to become a general business and corporate finance attorney supporting biotech and high-tech startup companies and angel and venture capital investors. Additionally, he supported U.S. equity market, municipal and aircraft finance and other transactions.
Neal is a graduate of Harvard University and the University of Michigan Law School.
