Michelle Cooke is a Partner and co-chair of the intellectual property group of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, where she also is chair of Manatt’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
Cooke focuses on branding, online content and brand presence, international protection/ enforcement, trade secrets, and privacy/data security.
Cooke has particular experience with the entertainment and media, multimedia platforms, consumer products, financial services, and software industries. She crafts strategies for establishing, expanding, exploiting and enforcing intellectual property. Her work with digital assets encompasses counseling on content, trade secrets, and privacy and data security. She is known particularly for her ability to navigate transborder IP transactions, disputes and enforcement challenges.
Cooke is ranked by Chambers & Partners (in the U.S. and globally), the World Trademark Review and the Daily Journal for her intellectual property work. The Los Angeles Business Journal has identified her as one of the Most Influential Women Lawyers, and the Daily Journal has named her one of the Top Women Lawyers in California.
Cooke received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Virginia.
