Michele A. Roberts is the first woman to head a major professional sports union in North America.

 

In her role as the Executive Director of the National Basketball Players Association, Roberts serves as the primary advocate for all players, ensuring the protection of the organization and its membership, including serving as the lead negotiator in all collective bargaining activities.

 

Prior to this selection, Roberts was a renowned trial lawyer and member of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom’s Litigation Group.

 

Roberts is a frequent lecturer and presenter to both the bench and bar on a variety of topics related to litigation and trial practice.

 

Roberts serves as an adjunct faculty at Harvard Law School and a fellow at American College of Trial Lawyers.

 

Roberts serves as a Board Director for Robert A. Shuker Scholarship Fund, JusticeAid and The Washington Ballet.

 

Roberts holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University and a J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law, Univer- Michele A. Roberts sity of California at Berkeley.
