Michael D. Kennedy is Senior Client Partner of Korn Ferry.

Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Kennedy owned a venture capital consulting firm where he advised a Southeast-based private equity fund.

Previously, Kennedy was a Vice President in the corporate finance group at GE Capital Corporation. Earlier, he was a Vice President at the Wachovia Corporation in the U.S. corporate group. Kennedy started his financial services career in investment management at J.P. Morgan & Company in New York.

Kennedy was appointed by President Obama to serve as Chairman of the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board, the largest pension fund in the country, and was confirmed by the United States Senate.

Kennedy holds a Bachelor’s degree with highest honors in History and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
