Macey Russell is a litigation partner at Choate with over 30 years of experience representing corporations and financial institutions in complex business matters.

Macey is listed in the Best Lawyers in America, a member of the Litigation Counsel of America’s Trial Lawyer Honorary Society, and served as a faculty contributor to Harvard Law School’s Trial Advocacy Workshop. Macey chaired Governor Deval Patrick’s Judicial Nominating Commission and State Treasurer Deborah Goldberg’s Alcohol Reform Task Force.

Regarded as a national leader in the dialogue on diversity in the legal profession focusing on African Americans in major law firms, Macey is an advisory board member of the Institute for Inclusion in the Legal Profession. In 2019 and 2020, Chambers short-listed him for the Minority Attorney of the Year Award.

Macey received the 2018 “Voice of Change” Award from the Boston Bar Association. The Burton Foundation and the Library of Congress honored Macey for his writing on developing minority lawyer talent. The Boston Foundation and Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce named him one of Boston’s 100 Most Influential People of Color, and one of the 50 Most Influential Lawyers of Color in Greater Boston.
