JoAnn Lee serves as Associate General Counsel, ExxonMobil and is on the Law Leadership Team. Her responsibilities include providing strategic direction to the global law organization and leading major projects/initiatives focused on organizational effectiveness.

 

Lee has served in various ExxonMobil management positions, including: Assistant General Counsel, Litigation; Chief Attorney, ExxonMobil Chemical Company; Chief Attorney, Employment Group; Coordinator, Litigation. Previously, Ms. Lee served as Trial Attorney for Union Pacific Railroad Company and Chief Prosecutor, Harris County District Attorney’s Office.

 

Lee is a member of the Executive Leadership Council, Chief Litigation Counsel Association, Texas Bar Foundation and Advisory Boards of Corporate Counsel Women of Color and Texas Executive Women. She co-chaired the Institute for Energy Law’s Energy Litigation Conference. She has served on Texas State Bar committees. Ms. Lee serves on the Board of the Family Services of Greater Houston.

 

Notable honors include 2013 University of Texas at Arlington Distinguished Alumni Award, 2014 Chambers Women in Law Award for Outstanding Contribution in Gender Diversity, one of Savoy magazine’s Most Influential Black Lawyers in 2015, and 2016 Texas Lawyer Women in Energy Award.
