Jamal H. Haughton is the SVP & General Counsel of Samsung Electronics America, Inc. He serves as the company’s chief legal offi cer for the U.S. As a member of Samsung’s executive management team, Haughton is responsible for providing counsel to the CEO and senior leadership on all legal matters affecting Samsung and its subsidiaries. He leads a team of attorneys responsible for handling commercial transactions, regulatory matters, litigation, risk management and employment issues, among others.
Prior to Samsung, he was the SVP, Associate General Counsel and Assistant Secretary for Cablevision Systems Corporation, a Fortune 500 publicly traded media and telecommunications company (NYSE: CVC). He was responsible for advising the Boards of Directors and senior management on all corporate governance, public company reporting, securities law, M&A and corporate finance related matters.
Prior to Cablevision, Haughton worked as a corporate associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, where he was actively involved in the practice of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions and corporate and securities law matters.
Haughton received his Juris Doctorate from Yale Law School and his undergraduate degree from The University of Michigan.
