Inajo Davis Chappell is a Partner at Ulmer & Berne LLP and Chair of the fi rm’s Nonprofit Group, which represents exempt organizations, ranging from social service agencies to arts groups, health organizations, foundations, community development corporations, educational, and governmental institutions. In addition to her work representing nonprofit organizations and public institutions, Inajo handles a variety of corporate matters for for-profit businesses.

 

Inajo has served on the Boards of Directors of many community organizations. She is currently the Vice Chair of The Cleveland Foundation Board of Directors and Chair of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

 

Consistently recognized for her civic and professional contributions, Inajo’s honors include: The Best Lawyers in America® Lawyer of the Year for Nonprofit/Charities Law; Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association Diversity & Inclusion Innovation Award and Women in Law Making a Difference Award; Crain’s Cleveland Business Women of Note and Notable Women in Law; Savoy magazine’s Most Influential Black Lawyers in America; and YWCA Women of Achievement Award.

 

She earned her B.A. in both Political Science and Afro-American Studies from Yale University and her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law.
