Ebony Yeboah-Amankwah is the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Ethics Officer for FirstEnergy Corp. Headquartered in Akron, Ohio, FirstEnergy is among the nation’s largest investor-owned electric systems, based on serving 6 million customers in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions.

 

Yeboah-Amankwah is responsible for corporate governance and serves as the primary liaison for the FirstEnergy Board of Directors. She is also responsible for the corporate ethics program and co-leading the company’s Legal Department.

 

Over the past decade, Yeboah-Amankwah has become increasingly involved with the local community, working with the Akron Children’s Museum, Project Grad, Akron Community Foundation, Girl Scouts of North East Ohio, United Way and local high schools to help provide educational opportunities for students.

 

In 2019, Yeboah-Amankwah was named one of Black Enterprise’s “Most Powerful Women in Corporate America.” She also was recognized in the 2017 and 2016 issues of Who’s Who in Black Cleveland.

 

Yeboah-Amankwah holds a BA in Political Science and Philosophy from Washington & Jefferson College and a JD from Washington and Lee University School of Law.
