Dana J.H. Pittard is Vice President of Defense Programs for Allison Transmission (Allison). In this role, he oversees Allison’s domestic and global defense business. With defense products in over 110 countries, Allison is the leading provider of wheeled and tracked military vehicle transmissions in the world.

 

Pittard joined Allison in 2015. He previously served in the U.S. Army in the grade of Major General (2-Star) and retired after 34 years of active duty. He commanded Armor and Infantry units at every level from platoon to Division, including command of the 1st Armored Division. His service included multiple combat tours.

 

Pittard serves on the Board of the Matthew Silverman Memorial Foundation to prevent youth suicides.

 

Pittard is an avid reader, family man and triathlete. Additionally, he is the co-author of an upcoming book titled Hunting the Caliphate – America’s War on ISIS.

 

Pittard holds a Bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, a Master’s degree from the School of Advanced Military Studies from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He also completed a National Security Fellowship from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
