Conrad L. Mallett, Jr. serves as Deputy Mayor of the City of Detroit.

Prior to his new role, Mallett served as Chief Administrative Officer of the Detroit Medical Center.

In this role, Mallett led the hospital’s operational re-design with a particular focus on population health management, physician and patient satisfaction, cost containment, medical safety and clinical quality.

Mallett was a key factor in Governor Rick Snyder’s effort that birthed the Healthy Michigan Medicaid expansion program.

Previously, Mallett was the President and CEO of Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit, MI. Sinai Grace is the largest hospital within the Detroit Medical Center’s $1.8 billion dollar healthcare system.

Mallett had a distinguished career as a lawyer and Michigan Supreme Court Justice.

Mallett holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of California at Los Angeles, a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Southern California, an MBA from Oakland University, with a concentration in Healthcare Management and a Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California.
