Dontá L. Wilson is President, BB&T of Alabama for BB&T. In this role, Wilson leads corporate banking, commercial banking, retail banking, wealth management, mortgage, operations, marketing and credit administration for all of Alabama and also parts of Georgia and Florida.

In 2005, at the age of 28, he was appointed as Regional President in Virginia.  In 2009, with the acquisition of Colonial Bank by BB&T, Mr. Wilson was selected to lead the Colonial acquisition.

Wilson serves as a board member of Baptist Health System; Board member, Alabama Bankers Association; Board of Directors and Executive Committee, Birmingham Business Alliance; Board of Directors, United Way of Central Alabama; Board member, Business Council of Alabama (State Chamber); Board member, Birmingham Civil Rights Institute; Fundraising co-chair, Birmingham Education Foundation; member and a Board member of the Woodlawn Foundation. Wilson received a BS in Management from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a MBA at the University of Maryland.
