Anré Williams is President of American Express’ Global Merchant Services. He has held this position since November 2011, at which time, he was elected as an Executive Officer of the Company and member of the Operating Committee, responsible for setting American Express’ strategic direction and priorities. In 2010, the Global Billed Business volume processed by the merchant network was $713 billion.
In 2008, Mr. Williams negotiated several significant investments for American Express, including the $1.1 billion acquisition of General Electric’s Corporate Payment Services business, and a $251 million investment in Concur Technologies, a leading provider of on-demand T&E expense management services.
Williams serves on the Board of Illinois Tool Works Inc. He also serves on the Board of Junior Achievement of New York and the Board of Trustees at Kent Place School. Williams earned his BA from Stanford University and his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
